Public Wants NATO War Crimes Prosecuted
Environics „The Focus Canada Report 2000-1“ shows Canadians were deceived by their government and are concerned about it.
TORONTO – An Environics telephone poll conducted between March 28 and April 16 (2,020 interviewed, accurate within 2% 19 out of 20 times) will surely prove devastating for the Chretien government, and especially Minister of Foreign Affairs Lloyd Axworthy, the main proponent of NATOs aggression on FR of Yugoslavia.
The Centre for Peace in the Balkans (CPB) commissioned three questions by the respected Environics Research Group Limited of Toronto .
Since the Nato bombardment was declared to be a „humanitarian“ mission a humanitarian crisis was needed to justify it. The pre-bombardment figure of 2,000 dead civilians was bandied about as proof that „resolute“ NATO action was required. Once the bombing started, NATO leaders and spokespersons threw out numbers of 100,000 missing and presumed dead Albanians (Jamie Rubin and William Cohen), while President Clinton insinuated that up to 500,000 Albanians were presumed dead or missing. Since NATOs occupation of Kosovo, 2,103 bodies have been unearthed.
13.B One of the major reasons why Canada participated in the NATO bombing of Yugoslavia was to put a stop to alleged Serbian massacres of Albanians in Kosovo. Approximately how many Albanian civilians were the Serbs alleged to have killed during the time leading up to the NATO bombing? Was it…?
Less than 5,000……..9
CANADAS INTERNATIONAL REPUTATION A CONCERN
Canada s international peacekeeping reputation and the legacy of Canadians who died preserving it obviously meant nothing to the Nobel-hungry Lloyd Axworthy. But it is very evident that it means a great deal to the Canadians interviewed. Exactly 80% are concerned about Canada s international reputation as a result of our participation in Axworthys war.
14.B At the time leading up to the NATO bombing, it was claimed by NATO and the government of Canada that the Serbs had killed 100,000 Albanians in Kosovo. In fact, the total number of Albanians killed during this time is now known to have been less than 5,000. If it were shown that the government of Canada inflated the number of alleged Serbian atrocities in order to gain support from the Canadian public for the NATO operation, how concerned would you be about Canada ’s international reputation? Would you be… READ – CODE ONE ONLY

PUBLIC WANTS NATO WAR CRIMES PROSECUTED
A tremendous amount of pressure is being exerted on the UN War Crimes Tribunal to ignore charges of NATO war crimes and not even conduct an investigation. The Canadian public on the other hand, 79% to be exact, agree that the UN has an obligation to not only investigate NATO war crimes, but also to prosecute the accused.
15.B There are allegations that war crimes were committed by NATO pilots during the bombing of Yugoslavia . These resulted in a number of civilian deaths. Do you strongly agree, somewhat agree, somewhat disagree or strongly disagree that the United Nations Tribunal on War Crimes has an obligation to investigate such allegations and prosecute where warranted?
The ball is now in the Chretien governments court. Canada participated in an illegal aggression on a sovereign country without a UN Security Council Resolution and without a vote in Parliament. How much longer can Chretien, Axworthy and company ignore the will of the Canadian electorate? And especially with a federal election just around the corner.

UNHCR Report Damning Indictment of NATO’s Failure
Canadian media ignore report, expulsions, and organized terror
TORONTO – The August 11 headline from Associate France Press (AFP), dateline Pristina, Yugoslavia, said it all: „Kosovo virtually an Albanian state two months after KFOR’s arrival.“
United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) spokesperson Judith Kumin, speaking at a press briefing at the Palais des Nations on August 10, „estimated that as many as 179,000 people have moved from Kosovo into other parts of Serbia and Montenegro since the conflict began in March 1998. Most of them — around 130,000 – have arrived since the end of the NATO airstrikes and the deployment of KFOR in Kosovo.“
Ms. Kumin reminded that „there are around half a million refugees from Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina still staying in Serbia and Montenegro .“ Not mentioned is that those forgotten refugees, some of whom have lived in exile for eight years, are not receiving international aid, nor is any Western country prepared to wage war on their behalf to see them return to their homes.
The UNHCR said that „increasingly violent attacks [are] on the rise“ in Pristina, suggesting a coordinated campaign of terror against the non-Albanian population is taking place. „There were at least nine murders and seven serious assaults in the city last week, KFOR said, and bomb and grenade attacks on Serb homes, churches and businesses are a regular occurrence. Even elderly women are not being spared. Two were shot through the doors of their apartments – a 79-year-old lady on Sunday and a 70-year-old on Monday night,“ said the report adding „a disturbing pattern has arisen in the method of intimidation used against Serbs still in the city.“
As an example, the report cites the case of „one woman living north of the Beogradska district of Pristina told UNHCR how a group of Albanians entered her house a few nights ago, murdered her elderly father and abducted her brother. She is now a virtual hostage in her own home with her 10-year-old daughter who is clearly scarred by the dreadful events she witnessed. In the Ulpjiana district, a 76-year-old infirm woman living alone has been reduced to a state of terror because of daily visits from Albanians ordering her to leave her home.“
See no Evil hear no Evil
Report ignored by Canadian media
The ethnic cleansing of non-Albanians, as reported by the UNHCR, failed to impress editors of Canada ’s leading dailies and thus did not make it to print. While those same editors lauded Canada ’s „humanitarian“ participation in the bombing of Yugoslavia , obviously there is some reluctance to report on NATO-assisted ethnic cleansing of non-Albanians from the Serbian province of Kosovo and Metohija.
European and British papers are less servile to their governments. In the August 12 London Times, James Pringle in Pristina says the city remains a killing field in an article titled „Violence drives Serbs out of Pristina.“ The same day’s Manchester Guardian has a headline titled „Pristina’s Serbs flee in thousands,“ filed by Andrew Gray from Pristina. An August 11 AFP headline reads „UNHCR says ‚thugs‘ have chased Serbs out of Pristina.“
New York ’s Newsweek, in an August 16 article by Zoran Cirjakovic and Jeffrey Bartholet titled „Driving Out the Serbs,“ make the following point: „[Albanian] Extremists are killing civilians and blowing up churches. Is this the Kosovo that NATO fought for?“
After two months of NATO occupations the Albanians were able to achieve what they could not in over 100 years: rid Kosovo and Metohija of the native non-Albanian population and make the ethnically pure „Greater Albania“ project one step closer to reality.
And the Canadian media? Perhaps by failing to make note of the ongoing situation, this is a tacit admission that Canada ’s supposed „humanitarian intervention“ was not what was advertised. And neither was the altruism that tickled our collective conscience from the editorial pages of Canada ’s leading dailies.

History destroyed under NATO supervision
TORONTO – The total destruction of Serbian religious shrines continues unabated under NATO occupation.
By allowing Albanian terrorists to destroy Serbian history, NATO is also destroying a part of European history. Even though many of the monasteries and churches are on a UNESCO list of protected sites, NATO troops stand by and allow their destruction.
The United Nations and NATO agree the destruction of religious monuments is organized and conducted by demolition experts. In each instance hundreds of kilograms of dynamite were used to totally demolish the structure. For a partial list of before and after photographs of destroyed shrines please visit http://www.balkanpeace.org and click on the 2000 Years of Christianity banner.
Throughout history, many invading armies have passed through the Serbian lands of Kosovo and Metohija, often sacking villages and towns. The invaders did not destroy Serb churches and monasteries. That is until now.
The destruction of Serb history, or „cultural genocide“ as called by some, is by extension an attempt to erase European history as well. And if Europe does not know where it has been, it is hard to know where it will be going.
Europe , the bastion of the Christian world, not only stood silent as shrines of its history were destroyed, but took part in the desecration.
