Public Wants NATO War Crimes Prosecuted

Environics’ „The Focus Canada Report 2000-1“ shows Canadians were deceived by their government and are concerned about it.

TORONTO – An Environics telephone poll conducted between March 28 and April 16 (2,020 interviewed, accurate within 2% 19 out of 20 times) will surely prove devastating for the Chretien government, and especially Minister of Foreign Affairs Lloyd Axworthy, the main proponent of NATO’s aggression on FR of Yugoslavia.

The Centre for Peace in the Balkans (CPB) commissioned three questions by the respected Environics Research Group Limited of Toronto .

DECEPTION

Since the Nato bombardment was declared to be a „humanitarian“ mission a humanitarian crisis was needed to justify it. The pre-bombardment figure of 2,000 dead civilians was bandied about as proof that „resolute“ NATO action was required. Once the bombing started, NATO leaders and spokespersons threw out numbers of 100,000 missing and presumed dead Albanians (Jamie Rubin and William Cohen), while President Clinton insinuated that up to 500,000 Albanians were presumed dead or missing. Since NATO’s occupation of Kosovo, 2,103 bodies have been unearthed.

13.B One of the major reasons why Canada participated in the NATO bombing of Yugoslavia was to put a stop to alleged Serbian massacres of Albanians in Kosovo. Approximately how many Albanian civilians were the Serbs alleged to have killed during the time leading up to the NATO bombing? Was it…?

Less than 5,000……..9

CANADA’S INTERNATIONAL REPUTATION A CONCERN

Canada ’s international peacekeeping reputation and the legacy of Canadians who died preserving it obviously meant nothing to the Nobel-hungry Lloyd Axworthy. But it is very evident that it means a great deal to the Canadians interviewed. Exactly 80% are concerned about Canada ’s international reputation as a result of our participation in Axworthy’s war.

14.B At the time leading up to the NATO bombing, it was claimed by NATO and the government of Canada that the Serbs had killed 100,000 Albanians in Kosovo. In fact, the total number of Albanians killed during this time is now known to have been less than 5,000. If it were shown that the government of Canada inflated the number of alleged Serbian atrocities in order to gain support from the Canadian public for the NATO operation, how concerned would you be about Canada ’s international reputation? Would you be… READ – CODE ONE ONLY

PUBLIC WANTS NATO WAR CRIMES PROSECUTED

A tremendous amount of pressure is being exerted on the UN War Crimes Tribunal to ignore charges of NATO war crimes and not even conduct an investigation. The Canadian public on the other hand, 79% to be exact, agree that the UN has an obligation to not only investigate NATO war crimes, but also to prosecute the accused.

15.B There are allegations that war crimes were committed by NATO pilots during the bombing of Yugoslavia . These resulted in a number of civilian deaths. Do you strongly agree, somewhat agree, somewhat disagree or strongly disagree that the United Nations Tribunal on War Crimes has an obligation to investigate such allegations and prosecute where warranted?

The ball is now in the Chretien government’s court. Canada participated in an illegal aggression on a sovereign country without a UN Security Council Resolution and without a vote in Parliament. How much longer can Chretien, Axworthy and company ignore the will of the Canadian electorate? And especially with a federal election just around the corner.

UNHCR Report Damning Indictment of NATO’s Failure

Canadian media ignore report, expulsions, and organized terror

TORONTO – The August 11 headline from Associate France Press (AFP), dateline Pristina, Yugoslavia, said it all: „Kosovo virtually an Albanian state two months after KFOR’s arrival.“

United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) spokesperson Judith Kumin, speaking at a press briefing at the Palais des Nations on August 10, „estimated that as many as 179,000 people have moved from Kosovo into other parts of Serbia and Montenegro since the conflict began in March 1998. Most of them — around 130,000 – have arrived since the end of the NATO airstrikes and the deployment of KFOR in Kosovo.“

Ms. Kumin reminded that „there are around half a million refugees from Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina still staying in Serbia and Montenegro .“ Not mentioned is that those forgotten refugees, some of whom have lived in exile for eight years, are not receiving international aid, nor is any Western country prepared to wage war on their behalf to see them return to their homes.

The UNHCR said that „increasingly violent attacks [are] on the rise“ in Pristina, suggesting a coordinated campaign of terror against the non-Albanian population is taking place. „There were at least nine murders and seven serious assaults in the city last week, KFOR said, and bomb and grenade attacks on Serb homes, churches and businesses are a regular occurrence. Even elderly women are not being spared. Two were shot through the doors of their apartments – a 79-year-old lady on Sunday and a 70-year-old on Monday night,“ said the report adding „a disturbing pattern has arisen in the method of intimidation used against Serbs still in the city.“

As an example, the report cites the case of „one woman living north of the Beogradska district of Pristina told UNHCR how a group of Albanians entered her house a few nights ago, murdered her elderly father and abducted her brother. She is now a virtual hostage in her own home with her 10-year-old daughter who is clearly scarred by the dreadful events she witnessed. In the Ulpjiana district, a 76-year-old infirm woman living alone has been reduced to a state of terror because of daily visits from Albanians ordering her to leave her home.“

See no Evil hear no Evil
Report ignored by Canadian media

The ethnic cleansing of non-Albanians, as reported by the UNHCR, failed to impress editors of Canada ’s leading dailies and thus did not make it to print. While those same editors lauded Canada ’s „humanitarian“ participation in the bombing of Yugoslavia , obviously there is some reluctance to report on NATO-assisted ethnic cleansing of non-Albanians from the Serbian province of Kosovo and Metohija.

European and British papers are less servile to their governments. In the August 12 London Times, James Pringle in Pristina says the city remains a killing field in an article titled „Violence drives Serbs out of Pristina.“ The same day’s Manchester Guardian has a headline titled „Pristina’s Serbs flee in thousands,“ filed by Andrew Gray from Pristina. An August 11 AFP headline reads „UNHCR says ‚thugs‘ have chased Serbs out of Pristina.“

New York ’s Newsweek, in an August 16 article by Zoran Cirjakovic and Jeffrey Bartholet titled „Driving Out the Serbs,“ make the following point: „[Albanian] Extremists are killing civilians and blowing up churches. Is this the Kosovo that NATO fought for?“

After two months of NATO occupations the Albanians were able to achieve what they could not in over 100 years: rid Kosovo and Metohija of the native non-Albanian population and make the ethnically pure „Greater Albania“ project one step closer to reality.

And the Canadian media? Perhaps by failing to make note of the ongoing situation, this is a tacit admission that Canada ’s supposed „humanitarian intervention“ was not what was advertised. And neither was the altruism that tickled our collective conscience from the editorial pages of Canada ’s leading dailies.

History destroyed under NATO supervision

TORONTO – The total destruction of Serbian religious shrines continues unabated under NATO occupation.

By allowing Albanian terrorists to destroy Serbian history, NATO is also destroying a part of European history. Even though many of the monasteries and churches are on a UNESCO list of protected sites, NATO troops stand by and allow their destruction.

The United Nations and NATO agree the destruction of religious monuments is organized and conducted by demolition experts. In each instance hundreds of kilograms of dynamite were used to totally demolish the structure. For a partial list of before and after photographs of destroyed shrines please visit http://www.balkanpeace.org and click on the 2000 Years of Christianity banner.

Throughout history, many invading armies have passed through the Serbian lands of Kosovo and Metohija, often sacking villages and towns. The invaders did not destroy Serb churches and monasteries. That is until now.

The destruction of Serb history, or „cultural genocide“ as called by some, is by extension an attempt to erase European history as well. And if Europe does not know where it has been, it is hard to know where it will be going.

Europe , the bastion of the Christian world, not only stood silent as shrines of its history were destroyed, but took part in the desecration.

Alleged witness to several killings in Kosovo goes public

30/11/2009

PRISTINA, Kosovo — EULEX and Kosovo police are investigating claims by a man who says he participated in 17 cases of murder, attempted murder, and torture since 1999. Nazim Bllaca says the crimes occurred while he worked at the Kosovo Information Service, an intelligence agency that is believed to be close to the ruling Democratic Party (PDK). He issued a press statement Sunday (November 29th) near the parliament building in Pristina, where several days ago his confessions were mentioned by an opposition lawmaker, who accused PDK officials of „ordering killings and torture“.
Bllaca claimed that several senior state, party and police officials are involved in criminal cases in which he has provided witness testimony. After that parliament session at which the opposition member made the revelation, Bllaca says gunmen fired at his home near Lipjan/Lipljane. He says he has given authorities a CD containing everything he knows. The PDK says his allegations are groundless. (Koha Ditore, Epoka e Re, Bota Sot, Express – 30/11/09; RTK, Kohavision – 29/11/09)Diese Todes Schwadrone war Geheimdiensten schon seit 1998 gut bekannt und gegen Hashim Thaci gibt es eine Ermittlungs Akte wegen dem Mord an Ali Uka in Tirana 1997!…………………………..

CRISIS IN THE BALKANS: THE SEPARATISTS; Leaders of Kosovo Rebels Tied to Deadly Power Play
By CHRIS HEDGES
………………
Albanian Authorities Accused of Collusion

As tensions rose, Thaci and the Albanian authorities decided to eliminate Krasniqi, according to former rebel commanders and two former Albanian officials interviewed in Tirana.

They said that in the middle of September 1998, Albanian police stopped Krasniqi and several aides and confiscated their weapons. Krasniqi’s office in Tirana was raided by about 50 policemen and emptied of guns and munitions. On Sept. 21 at 11 P.M. on the way back from a restaurant in Tirana, Krasniqi ran into a police checkpoint about 300 yards from his office on Dibra Street, according to a former rebel commander who was with Krasniqi. Krasniqi and his two companions were again frisked for weapons and their vehicle was searched. The two cars behind Krasniqi, which carried aides, were not allowed through the checkpoint.

When Krasniqi and his two companions got out of their gray Opal jeep they saw three men emerge from the shadows with black hoods over their faces. The men, speaking with an Albanian accent that distinguished them from Kosovo Albanians, ordered the two men with Krasniqi to get down on the ground.

„Which one is it?“ asked one of the gunmen, according to one of the commanders who was prone on the asphalt.

„The one in the middle,“ said another. The gunmen, who held a pistol a few inches from Krasniqi’s head, fired a shot. He then fired two more shots into Krasniqi’s head once he fell onto the pavement.

American officials also had reports that the rebel army had killed Krasniqi, but said there were also subsequent, conflicting reports from the region that he was killed by disaffected members of his own unit.

After Krasniqi’s death, former rebel commanders said, the killings, purges and arrests accelerated. Rebel police, dressed in distinctive black fatigues, threw into detention anyone who appeared hostile to Thaci. Many of these people were beaten.

Former official says he „killed for Thaci party“

PRIŠTINA — Former Kosovo Information Service member Naim Blaca claims that he participated in serious crimes „against political opponents“. Kosovo Albanian Prime Minister Hashim Thaci’s party stood behind the crimes, that included murder, Blaca said.He told reporters in front of the Kosovo assembly in Priština that there were 17 cases, among them murders, attempted murders and threats, in which he participated as a member of the agency.Blaca would not publically identify any of the victims he killed personally, stating that this was a question for the EULEX prosecution, to which he gave a statement a month ago.He added that he is prepared to take responsibility for what he did while he was working closely with Thaci’s Democratic Party of Kosovo (DPK).“I thought that everything I was doing was in the best interest of the homeland, but it wasn’t,” said he.Blaca stated that the people who ordered the crimes included commander of the former so-called Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) Azem Sula, DPK MP Xhavit Haliti, Deputy Interior Minister Fatmir Xhelili and other senior officials of Thaci’s party. He also said that the “targets were political opponents of the party, mostly senior officials of the Democratic League of Kosovo (DSK).”DSK official Gani Geci accused the DPK on Thursday during an assembly session of having committed serious crimes, and claimed that he had evidence.

Thaci’s party denied the claims of both Blaca and Geci.

“This is an effort of these parties to gain political points,” DPK spokesman Blerand Stavileci said.

Meanwhile, Kosovo police, KPS, announced that they were waiting for the prosecution to make the first move regarding Blaca’s claims.

“The investigation in the case is being led by the EULEX prosecution and we are waiting for orders to act,” police spokesman Baki Kelani said.

EULEX spokesman Christophe Lamfalussy said on Sunday that the EULEX prosecution began its investigation a month ago.

Blaca joined the KLA in 1998 and then worked for the Kosovo Information Service until 2003 in the towns of Lipljane, Štimlje, Uroševac and Vitina.

Thaci and his cohorts also allegedly eliminated a military rival financed by the Rugova group. In the summer of 1998, while the KLA was suffering military reverses, Ahmet Krasniqi, a former colonel in the Yugoslav army, was given $4.5 million in funds raised by Rugova’s administration to establish a rival military structure known as the Armed Forces of the Kosovo Republic. After tensions mounted between Krasniqi’s group and the KLA, Thaci and the Albanian government decided to eliminate Krasniqi, according to former KLA commanders and former Albanian government officials. On September 21 Krasniqi was murdered in Tirana by Albanian secret police or the KLA, or both.

Hasim Thaci Mörder Chef: Head of the SHIK, Kadri Veseli

THE KEY PLAYERS

The roots of the IHPSO trace back to the defence and interior ministries
formed by Kosovo’s parallel government-in-exile in the Nineties. The
organisation’s chief, Ramë Maraj, currently holds the official title of
special security advisor to President Rugova.
In a conversation with this author before the “Life in Kosovo”
debate, Maraj freely admitted that his IHPSO was an intelligence service
linked to Rugova’s LDK. “The time has come to demystify these
intelligence structures and show we are real people and not monsters,”
he said.
Maraj was alluding to hostile media coverage that followed a May 10
police raid on IHPSO offices. The police involved were investigating the
bombing of Rugova’s motorcade on March 15, while the president was on
his way to meet with European Union foreign policy chief Javier Solana.
Solana had travelled to Kosovo in order to urge Rugova to give the PDK a
leading role in the government.
Crisis Group noted in its May report noted that, “UNMIK and the KPS
[Kosovo Police Service] are increasingly drawn to the premise that
elements within the LDK camp were responsible for the explosion.” The
suspicion is that the bomb, which damaged Rugova’s car and injured a
passer-by, was intended to provide the president with a pretext to avoid
being pushed into broad coalition politics.
The SHIK, on the other hand, emerged from the Popular Movement of
Kosovo, LPK, a group of activists and former political prisoners which
later became part of the KLA.
The head of the SHIK, Kadri Veseli, was a member of the
self-proclaimed Provisional Government of Kosovo, established by the
KLA’s leader, Hashim Thaçi, in 1999. The SHIK continued to exist when
the abortive governing body was abolished in February 2000.
Initially financed by funds left over from the war, particularly the
“Homeland Calling” fund that financed the KLA, it has since relied on
finances from local supporters.
Nowadays, the organisation is quite open about its activities.
Veseli, who sits before a wall half covered by a huge reproduction of
the SHIK’s circular emblem, does not, even on the record, deny that he
runs a full-blown intelligence gathering operation.
“We are in a process of transformation and have been so for the
last five years,” he told Balkan Insight, adding that the SHIK had hopes
to play “a more active part” in Kosovo’s future by “nationalising its
capacities” in some way.
Both Veseli and Maraj insist that they have well-trained,
professional staff who are fully capable of playing a part in whatever
kind of official intelligence service might be established in Kosovo in
the future.
Sources close to both services, however, paint a very different
picture.
The IHPSO is thought to number around 300 people, half of whom
receive a regular salary of some 200 euro per month from the
organisation. The other half are employed as municipal officials, or
work in other public institutions.
Amongst those working at a high level within the IHPSO are a number
of people who previously worked for the Secretariat for Internal
Affairs, SUP, and State Security, DB.

Roli i Sigurimit te banda e Xhevdet Mustafës

Shekulli | 27/11/2009 |
