Wenn kriminelle Strukturen Geschäfte mit 10% Bestechungs Geld einführen
9.11.2007 by CrniLabudovi.
Two Albanian officials arrested on corruption charges
09/11/2007
TIRANA, Albania — Police have arrested two senior labour ministry officials and the owner of a construction company on corruption charges on Wednesday (November 7th). Labour Ministry General-Secretary Spartak Gjini and a member of an ad-hoc committee, Llambi Taka, are charged with intervening on behalf of the Siret construction company, which won a tender to renovate one of the ministry’s buildings. According to prosecutor Dritan Rreshka, the two officials appropriated 10% of the total value of the contract. Siret owner Fiqiri Pali was also arrested. The Albanian government has arrested over 20 senior state officials on similar charges in a broad three-month operation against corruption. (Shekulli, Shqip, Panorama, Gazeta Shqiptare, AP - 08/11/07)

Minister arrives for crime talks in ’stolen’ Mercedes By Paul Anast in Athens
Interpol
ALBANIA’S Minister of Public Order, Spartak Poci, was left kicking his heels on the Greek border yesterday when his official car was confiscated as stolen.
His embarrassment was made worse by the fact that he was arriving for the signing of an agreement to combat cross-border crime. When Greek customs officials ran a computer check on Mr Poci’s Mercedes S-350 luxury limousine, as required by the Schengen accords on movement across European borders, they determined that it had been stolen in Italy.
The Greeks explained that they had no choice but to confiscate the limousine because an order for its impounding had been put out by Italy and Interpol. The Albanian minister’s Greek host, Michael Chrysochoides, the Public Order Minister, sped to the rescue by offering a Greek state limousine to pick up the stranded visitor.

siehe schon 2003!

US ambassador praises Macedonian police operation, calls for speedier reforms

US Ambassador to NATO Victoria Nuland praised the Macedonian police for their operation earlier in the week against a group of militants. She also urged the country to push ahead with the reforms needed for Euro-Atlantic integration.

US Ambassador to NATO Victoria Nuland, on a visit to Skopje on Thursday (November 8th), saluted the police operation against an ethnic Albanian militant gang Wednesday.
“We were informed about the operation. We were especially impressed by the fact that multi-ethnic police forces carried out the tasks,” she said after a meeting with Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski and other officials.
The police operation, called Mountain Storm, was launched on Wednesday in the village of Brodec in order to arrest a criminal group of 30 to 50 people, led by Ramadan Siti and Lirim “Nazi” Jakupi. Around 250 members of the interior ministry’s Special Tasks Unit and Special Unit for Rapid Deployment advanced on the village, while a smaller group of 50 police Special Forces were positioned at the Macedonia-Kosovo border.
Two police helicopters were dispatched to provide aerial reconnaissance, and according to the daily newspaper <i>Vreme</i.>, three Army Mi-24 helicopters provided combat air support.
Police have confirmed six dead — Ramadan Siti, Tidan Feyzulahu, Imer Gavazi from Kosovo, Bekim Memeti from Tetovo and Ferad Sahimi, Fisnik Ameti from Brodec. Thirteen people were arrested — all ethnic Albanians — and are charged with supporting the criminals.
Jakupi reportedly was not at the village at the time of the operation, but a broad police search is under way along Sar Mountain to arrest him and a small group with him.
The action came just one day before Nuland, on a regional tour, arrived in Skopje to deliver a call for more reforms.
“When you run a marathon, you can’t relax in the final two miles, but sprint to the finish line. That is a short time but we are confident that Macedonia will succeed,” she told officials.
She praised Macedonia for achieving economic progress, attracting foreign investment, and strengthening efforts against corruption and organised crime. Macedonia is an exemplary of a multi-ethnic democratic society in the region, Nuland said.
But she also pointed out that reforms in the judiciary and police have to continue. She called on political leaders to resolve remaining differences and establish constructive dialogue.
Finally, she urged Macedonia and Greece to go back to the negotiating table to work out a solution to their decades-old name dispute.
Macedonia, along with fellow Adriatic Charter members Albania and Croatia, hopes for an invitation to NATO membership in 2008.
“My president wants to see you in NATO,” Nuland said during her meeting with President Branko Crvenkovski. “Unfortunately, out of the three candidates you are in the third place now.”

Serbia Ratifies EU Visa Deal
07 11 2007 Belgrade _ The Serbian parliament ratified on Wednesday two agreements with the EU on easing visa restrictions and facilitating the readmission of illegal migrants.
The vote in the Serbian parliament came just a few hours ahead of the initialling of a Stabilization and Association Agreement, SAA, between the EU and Serbia in Brussels.
The agreement on easing visa restrictions envisages that journalists, businesspeople, students, scientists, artists and some other categories of the population will have easier access to the so-called Schengen visas that allow free travel when crossing the borders between most EU members.
Under the deal, visa applicants will need to submit fewer documents and will undergo a simplified and faster procedure for obtaining a Schengen visa.
Visas will be valid for up to five years, and the fees for obtaining them will be limited to €35.
The readmission agreement facilitates the organized return of illegal immigrants to Serbia of Serbian citizens or people from others countries who have entered the EU via Serbia.
Serbia also will provide temporary housing and arrange of the relocation of illegal immigrants to their homes.
Earlier Serbia’s Interior Ministry said that the estimated number of illegal immigrants who arrived in the EU from or through Serbia could amount up to 50,000 people.
Many are from Serbia’s disputed province of Kosovo.
Although Kosovo’s UN administration issues its own travel document, many Kosovars prefer Serbian passports as they allow easier travel.
Both agreements are key elements of the SAA which is an important milestone on the way to negotiating Serbia’s eventual membership of the EU.

Serbia and Hungary in Trade Deal
Belgrade _ Officials from the Serbian and Hungarian economy ministries have signed a memorandum on encouraging cooperation between the two countries’ small and medium-sized companies.
The memorandum between Hungary’s Investment and Trade Development Agency and state-run Serbia Investment and Export Promotion Agency was signed in Budapest on Wednesday during a two-day meeting of the Hungarian-Serbian Joint Committee on Economics.
Hungary’s trade with Serbia has been developing dynamically, and has increased more than threefold in the past six years, a statement released on Thursday said.
The total value of Hungarian investments in Serbia exceeds €215 million.
In recent years, Hungarian small and medium-size enterprises have established joint ventures in Serbia, mainly in the northern province of Vojvodina and in the capital, Belgrade, operating primarily in commerce and the services, the statement said.

Zogaj Calls on Skopje Not to Use Brodec Events for Repression
“The Macedonian government should clearly differentiate what is unacceptable and what is within the democratic framework,” head of foreign affairs committee stressed, underlining political forces should show maturity in these moments TIRANA - Head of the parliamentary foreign affairs committee Prec Zogaj expressed his concern on Thursday on the last events in Brodec of Macedonia where eight people lost their lives, saying it were dramatic and tragic.

Emri i ri i hedh poshtë këto akuza”, tha Zogaj.

Tom Lantos and Albanian Mafia Bribes for Kosovo Independence
9.11.2007 by CrniLabudovi.
(6) Or that Osama Bin Laden spent time in Albania and that his organization had connections with the “Kosovo Liberation Army.” What should one make, then, of U.S. Rep. Tom Lantos (D-Ca.), who in April 2007 appealed directly to jihadists, pointing out that “the United States stands foursquare for the creation of an overwhelmingly Muslim country in the very heart of Europe.” He meant Kosovo, but his words apply to Bosnia just as much.Missionary Zeal
The holy warriors that poured into Bosnia and to a lesser extent Kosovo and Macedonia were a vanguard. What followed were money and missionaries – Saudi-trained clerics, spreading the Wahhabi interpretation of Islam to the receptive audience. This worldview has on occasion clashed with the more Ottoman views of Bosnian and Albanian Muslims; however, “the challenges of specific local realities merely force [well-funded Arab proselytizers] to tailor their methods to best influence the particular society in question. What works in Brazil or China or Belgium might not work in Kosovo. But where there is a Wahhabi, there is a way.” (p. 71)
Deliso notes a significant difference between Bosnia and Kosovo; while in Bosnia Islam has played a much more pronounced role, the Albanians of Kosovo have been driven by more nationalist ideas. Albanians have shown particular savagery towards Serbian Orthodox churches. Yet they have also persecuted ethnic Turks and Slavic Muslims (Gorani), who share their religion. Meanwhile, Wahhabi missionaries have been destroying Ottoman-era mosques and replacing them with Saudi-style ones. (p.55) Now that they have in effect exterminated the Serbs, explains Deliso, Albanian identity politics will find itself dominated by religious differences – between Ottoman and Wahhabi Islam in particular. (p.51)
