Armed Groups Patrolling Kosovo

03 10 2007  Pristina _ Kosovo`s public broadcaster, RTK, aired on Wednesday night dramatic footage and an interview with members of the Albanian National Army, ANA, an armed group branded as terrorists by the UN mission in Kosovo, UNMIK.

According to RTK the footage was filmed near the Kosovo – Serbia border in the municipality of Podujevo. A group of masked armed men in black uniforms were shown patrolling one of Kosovo’s most important highways and checking vehicles that were passing by.

”Seeing the serious threat… that Serbia will again do an invasion in Kosovo, we decided to prepare and to open our eyes better”, one of the masked armed men told RTK.

Beatrant Bornneau, spokesperson of NATO troops in Kosovo, KFOR, told RTK that they would react furiously in case they would locate the ANA militia.

“There’s no place for any more violence in Kosovo”, Bornneau said.

Members of the Albanian National Army (Armata Kombetare Shqiptare) known also as AKSH, were seen in the territory periodically after the conflict ended in 1999. They have taken responsibility for several bombing incidents in Kosovo since then.

Through press statements ANA has also threatened with attacks and all out war in Macedonia demanding unification of Albanians from Macedonia, Kosovo and Albania. This is the first time that any ANA armed and uniformed members were filmed and broadcast in a national TV station in Kosovo.

Kosovo is being administrated by the UN since 1999 when NATO bombs made the Serbian authorities withdraw from the territory. Its political status is due to be resolved in an internationally mediated negotiations process between Kosovo and Serbia politicians.

UN chief calls for prompt resolution of Kosovo’s status

Further delays could undermine everything the UN has achieved in the province since 1999 and jeopardise regional stability, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon warned on Wednesday.

Delays in the Kosovo status process could undermine everything the UN has sought to accomplish in the province, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon warned on Wednesday (October 3rd). He urged all parties involved to make every effort to reach a solution.

“Momentum in the process to resolve the status of Kosovo must be maintained until closure is reached. Otherwise, there is a real risk of progress beginning to unravel and of instability in Kosovo and the region,” he said in a new report, which will be presented to the Security Council on October 9th.

No effort must be spared in finding an acceptable solution based on the guiding principles laid down by the six-nation Contact Group, Ban said. The group, composed of Britain, France, Germany, Italy, Russia and the United States, has ruled out a return to the pre-1999 situation, a change in Kosovo’s existing boundaries, or partition.

The status process opened in February 2006, with negotiations between Belgrade and Pristina led by former Finnish President Martti Ahtisaari. Currently, an EU-US-Russian troika is leading a new round of talks.

So far, the negotiations have failed to bridge the gap between the Kosovo Albanians, who are demanding full independence, and Belgrade, which says it can only offer substantial autonomy. …………………..

Besitzer muss “historischen Bagger” aus Geldgründen verkaufen
Belgrad - Ein Bagger, der vor sieben Jahren zum Symbol des Volksaufstandes gegen den serbischen Herrscher Slobodan Milosevic wurde, wird jetzt für 90 000 Euro im Internet angeboten. Mit dem 1981 gebauten Baufahrzeug hatten Demonstranten am 5. Oktober 2000 das Parlaments- und das Fernsehgebäude in Belgrad gestürmt. Besitzer Ljubisav Djokic, bekannt als “Joe-Bagger”, sagte den Belgrader Medien am Donnerstag, er müsse den “historischen Bagger” verkaufen, da er das Geld zum Überleben benötige.

Zuerst wollte er die nicht fahrtüchtige Baumaschine, die das “letzte kommunistische Regime in Europa” zum Sturz brachte, dem Historischen Museum schenken, aber das Kulturministerium hatte dies verhindert. Angebote können bis zum 1. November eingereicht werden. (APA/dpa)

Abuzimet perfshijne edhe ndermarrjet e naftes ne qarkun e Fierit, duke finalizuar operacionin e koduar, “Duart e pastra 3”. Kater ish-drejtore apo funksionare ne keto sektore perfunduan oret e para te mengjesit te djeshem ne prangat e agjenteve te policise se Fierit, te drejtuar nga oficere te Krimit te Organizuar e Prokurorise, ndersa dy te tjere u shpallen ne kerkim, po per vepren penale te abuzimit e shperdorimit te detyres. Ndermarrjet e naftes, “Albpetrol”, “Armo”, “Servcom” dhe “Rera Bituminoze” kane kaluar ne duart e hetuesve per kater muaj me radhe, nderkohe qe Prokuroria e Pergjithshme kishte dhene urdhrin per arrestimet e policise me vendimin e Gjykates se Fierit. Operacioni ka nisur pak pas mesnate, i paralajmeruar edhe nga gazeta “Koha Jone”, ne numrin e djeshem. Agim Neza, zedhenes i Prokurorise se Pergjithshme, konfirmoi dje per “Koha Jone”, emrat e te arrestuarve. Ata jane Fatos Nika, 58 vjeç, drejtor i “Albpetrol”, ne vitin 2005, Olmi Deraj, 57 vjeç, ish-drejtues ne “Albpetrol”, Agim Asllanaj, 55 vjeç, drejtor i “Nafta Impeks”, Patos, “Servcom”, ne 2005, Llambi Buçka, 56 vjeç, ish-drejtor i ndermarrjes “Rera-Bituminoze” ne 2005, aktualisht inxhinier. Sipas hetuesve, shkak eshte bere nje kontroll i dokumentacionit nga Kontrolli i Larte i Shtetit dhe Ministria e Ekonomise, ku jane gjetur shkelje ne ndertimin e Unazes se Fierit, pasi kane munguar projekti, leja e ndertimit dhe dokumentacione te tjera gjate procedurave, te zhvilluara dy vjet me pare.

Rreth ores 00.30 te mengjesit te djeshem, uniformat blu te policise se Fierit kane zbarkuar ne tre prej lagjeve, duke trokitur ne dyert e tre ish-drejtuesve te ndermarrjeve te naftes, Olmi Deraj, Agim Asllanaj e Llambi Buçka. Nderkohe qe, homologet e Tiranes kishin kapur ish-drejtorin e “Albpetrol”, …………………..
